Sonder Melbourne CBD — Men's Barber in the Heart of the City
Our Story
The first shop interstate, and easily the biggest test Sonder has taken on. Doing it in another state is really a question of whether the standard holds a thousand kilometres from home, with none of the people or habits that hold it together across Sydney close by. Sonder took over Area Studio, an award-winning shop and one of the most respected barbershops in the country, with ten years of its own behind it. Jacob, who led the Area Studio team, still leads it today. The job here isn't to wipe any of that away. It's to look after what they built and keep a genuinely great shop running.
Parking
There's parking right outside the shop on Franklin Street, and more at the Queen Victoria Market car park just around the corner.
Public Transport
The shop is on Franklin Street in the heart of the Melbourne CBD, right by Queen Victoria Market. The Queen Victoria Market tram stop on Franklin Street is about a 1 minute walk, and Flagstaff and Melbourne Central stations are both around a 6 to 7 minute walk. Flinders Street Station is about 2km away, a short tram ride down through the city.
Services
Every haircut at Sonder starts with a proper consultation. We take the time to understand what you're after before anyone picks up the clippers, because that's where a good cut is won or lost. From there it's whatever suits you, a skin fade, a classic cut, a scissor cut or a buzz, plus full beard work from a quick tidy-up to a proper shape and fade.
